Ashland University, Division II National Champs
In basketball...but there's something to be said about chess as well.
I’ve been overseeing the chess club at Ashland University (in Ashland, Ohio) for years now (sometimes remotely, but generally in person), and getting stronger! We’ve also got some scholarship money available, so if you or someone you know might be interested in attending, please let me know.
If you’re an athlete, you may also find AU attractive - it’s a very strong D-II school. The women’s pole vault in the last Olympics was won by an AU grad, and a member of the U.S.’s gold medal-winning 4x400 team in the last World Championships had just graduated from AU. And just today, our women’s basketball team finished a perfect 37-0 season with a 78-67 win over Minnesota-Duluth to take their third NCAA championship since 2013 (to go along with two runner-up finishes and a 31-0 season that went unfinished because of Covid).
Congratulations to all at Ashland.
