No sense in wasting anyone’s time here: Magnus Carlsen destroyed Dommaraju Gukesh in their round of 16 match in the Speed Chess Championship, 23-7. (And it wasn’t even that close, and Carlsen was playing fairly badly in the first half as well.) Carlsen got out to a 16-2 advantage, with one of the two losses probably attributable to a mouse slip in what had been a much better position.
