There’s no new evidence - which is to say there’s still no evidence at all - that Hans Niemann cheated against Magnus Carlsen in their game from the Sinquefield Cup. Nevertheless, there are interesting discussions on the general topic of cheating in chess, and here are two.
First, Tyler Cowen reflects on ways in which the ongoing development of artificial intelligence and wearables (to say nothing of, er, anal beads - sorry) will make it increasingly difficult to know if one is in a fair game.
Second, IM, computer science professor, and Anti-Cheating Czar Ken Regan discusses L’affaire Niemann, cheating in general, and various other matters in this interview with James Altucher. (If you want the pure podcast version, go here, but as Ken often shows things on his screen it’s worth watching the YouTube version if you can.)
