A bit of “old news” from about a month and a half ago; for all I know Anish Sarkar might be 1700 by now. At the time of this article (HT: Allen Becker) the three-year-old was already rated 1555 and is working with a GM and studying chess 7-8 hours a day.
He’s still human, as in both videos he takes far longer to mate than necessary (1.Qg8+! Rxg8 2.Nf7# in the first (rather than 1.Nf7+?, which could have been met by 1…Rxf7), 1.Ra8+ Kxa8 2.Qxc8# in the second), but c’mon - he’s three! Look out, world.
