It would be a shame were Carlsen to abdicate, but the world champion's boredom with world title matches shouldn't be allowed to change the format. I, for one, look forward to Nepomniachtchi (hopefully) making a better go of it next time, and if Carlsen isn't his opponent, he, with his previous experience of having competed, should win the match.
