Here’s a bit of a postscript to the previous post on Vlastimil Hort, as well as the earlier posts noting the passing of former World Chess Champion Boris Spassky and the former Candidate and FIDE President Fridrik Olafsson. Dutch legend Jan Timman, himself one of the best players in the world for much of the late 20th century, speaks with New In Chess’s Dirk Jan ten Geuzendam about Spassky (a discussion that includes his match with Hort) and Olafsson; needless to say, Bobby Fischer features prominently in the remembrances as well. If you’re at all interested in these players or relatively recent chess history, it’s worth your time. Have a listen.
