World Rapid & Blitz Team Championship
Featuring Magnus Carlsen & Ding Liren!
There’s relatively little top-level classical chess, but when it comes to rapid & blitz it’s a deluge. The latest big event is the FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Team Championship in Almaty (Kazakhstan), and the participants include world #1 Magnus Carlsen, World Champion Ding Liren, world #5 Ian Nepomniachtchi, #7 Nodirbek Abdusattorov, former World Champion Vladimir Kramnik and other top players. The rapid portion started yesterday (Friday) and continues through the weekend, with the blitz taking place on Monday.
